Telangana is the youngest state in India, officially formed on 2 June 2014 after a long and historic movement for separate statehood. Before its formation, Telangana was part of the combined state of Andhra Pradesh. The people of Telangana believed that the region was facing inequality in areas such as employment, irrigation, education, and resource allocation. Over several decades, students, employees, intellectuals, and political leaders actively participated in peaceful protests and movements demanding a separate state that could better represent the aspirations and development needs of the Telangana people.
The formation of Telangana marked an important moment in Indian history, with Hyderabad becoming the capital city. Since its formation, the state has shown rapid growth and development across multiple sectors. Telangana has emerged as one of India’s leading states in information technology, infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, and industrial investment. Hyderabad, in particular, has become a major global IT and business hub, attracting multinational companies and startups from around the world.
The state government has also introduced several welfare and development programs focused on farmers, rural development, drinking water supply, irrigation projects, education, and women’s empowerment. Large infrastructure projects such as irrigation schemes, roads, metro expansion, and industrial corridors have contributed to economic growth and improved living standards.
Today, Telangana is recognised as a progressive and fast-developing state that proudly preserves its rich culture, traditions, language, and heritage while moving towards a modern and innovative future.
